By the end of the course students will:

-understand scene structure, building a scene, changing dynamics within a scene

-prepare rehearsal plans for directing actors

-understand of the actor´s process

-describe a range of rehearsal techniques which would create authentic characters and relationships, explore scene dynamics, raise the stakes for the dramatic action, create texture for a scene through the integration of characters into space, exploration of an atmosphere, and variety of tactics used to pursue goals

-demonstrate giving clear directions so as to get optimal work from actors

-gain confidence as a director

Students taking the course in the capacity of actors have similar learning outcomes; instead of demonstrating giving clear directions, they should be able to discern the clarity of directions and instead of gaining confidence as directors, they can gain awareness of directing techniques and gain confidence as actors using a variety of rehearsal tools.

Working with Actors I.

Obsah kurzu

Working with Actors courses aim to give the students an awareness of the principles underlying the art of acting and practice using them. The students will learn these basic principles through exercises practicing certain principles in isolation and in scene work which combines the principles of acting into the creation of a character in a dramatic situation. This course aims to provide students with tools for working with actors, and practice using them. In part 2, students focus on scenework, preparing and directing actors or fellow-students in scenes. Students should apply the specific rehearsal techniques practiced in part 1 of the course, and deepen their understanding of these techniques and confidence in using them.
