Student after completing the course
- masters the combination of dance steps and their variants from ethnographic areas
- can independently modify dances, extend the variants with more complicated movement register
- chooses the correct teaching procedure and sequence of assignments
- has an overview of the teaching methods that will lead pupils to the movement distinction of ethnographic areas
- is able to structure a dance lesson correctly, mastering the structured assignment of links and dances
- can analyse his/her own work and that of other students, which he/she is able to evaluate professionally, point out shortcomings, see mistakes and highlight the pros
- on the basis of the acquired comprehensive knowledge is able to build a lesson for different age and performance categories, is able to attract different age and performance groups
- is able to write his/her own text evaluating the work of a selected folk ensemble

Course contents
Learning objectives:
This course focuses on how to create a lesson: Students will learn the most effective way to create a lesson. First, they review the dance repertoire of the grade (group) for which they are creating the lesson, then they create the appropriate type of lesson.
The aim of studying
To be able to prepare a variety of lessons, variations to dances with a fixed and non-fixed link to the musical accompaniment - Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. Simplification and complication of variations and further adaptation of prepared variations for different types of dance studios and dance conservatories.
Thematic areas:
- They then select individual steps from the step links of the selected dances. Short or longer links are created for each step to practice on their own and then in pairs.
- Students are introduced to the curriculum for Dance Conservatories and Elementary Schools of the Arts. They compare the curricula with each other, looking for commonalities and differences in the requirements placed on the pupils of these schools.
- Differences in lessons for different types of dance schools: Students create model lessons and modify their content for different types of dance schools. Each dance school has a different level and different requirements. First, lessons of a simpler type are created and later lessons of a more complex and technically demanding type are created.
- The dance material of the different folklore areas is full of small differences that need to be brought to a professional mastery of the dance by methodical precision. In a children's ensemble, it is necessary to work in an all-round way, and the effort to achieve a professional performance will sometimes focus on only one dance area that the ensemble is dealing with.
- Preparing model lessons for ethnographic areas and groups of advanced dancers.

Assessment methods and criteria
Methodical preparation of folk dance lessons for professional dancers. Focusing of the lesson on a specific folklore area, preparation of technical dance movement material to deepen the knowledge of the chosen area.
Oral and practical examination of practical and theoretical knowledge, defence of written work in preparation for the examination lesson (2-3 standard pages).
