Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students reflect on the course of teaching, acquaintance with pedagogical approaches in the work of specific teachers, with the conditions and specifics of teaching theory and history of dance at dance conservatories, especially with regard to the overall content of teaching, its demanding nature (number of teaching hours, physical demands of practical dance lessons).

Course contents
The aim of the course is to provide experience with the practical form of teaching dance theory and history, to lead students to objective reflection on the course and its content.
The course is of a practical nature and is closely related to the course Didactics and Methodology of Dance Theory and History. In the first semester, it mainly concerns the listening sessions in the teaching at a particular dance conservatory, the elaboration of the listening session diaries and the reflection on the way the teaching is conducted, its content, methods, teacher-student relations, evaluation methods and other didactic and methodological parameters. It includes discussion with the teachers at the conservatory about the issue, teaching conditions, etc.

Professional dance theory texts (historical, theoretical); iconographic materials.
Video recordings of dance and choreographic works (YouTube, collection of video recordings from the Kylián Archive and HAMU video library).
Internet resources on the history and theory of dance.
Assessment methods and criteria
Credit for practice (auditions and diaries and reflection of auditions in teaching at a selected dance conservatory)
