Course contents

The course focuses on expanding the basic knowledge of digital image interpretation, digital image processing and related technologies

The course aims to present the field of image digitization and processing of digital image data to the students - future cinematographers. This should clarify the individual terms concerning digital camera shooting and digital postproduction for the students. The students learn about digital image parameters and master assessing the importance of the individual parameters. They will get a basic overview of digital workflow, colour management and digital data care which will facilitate a better understanding of the interconnection with the cinematographer’s profession.

Topics:

  1. Digital Image Interpretation - Binary Record of Quantities
  2. RGB colour components, additive colour mixing, primary colours and gamut.
  3. Gamut representation in the colour chart. Colour space.
