How to use the post-production potential of color grading.

Mode of study

The course does not have a fixed schedule, nevertheless the students are obliged to meet with the lecturer:

— in the first week of classes for instructions

— in the middle of the semester for checking on progress. The date itself is to be set by arrangement with the lecturer.

— in the last week of classes to present the finished grading

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Course requirements are basic knowledge of DaVinci Resolve.

Course contents

Independent coursework — grading of the Light Tonality exercise.

Independent grading of the Light Tonality exercise. The student imports the original camera footage, conforms it, grades the exercise to his or her best abilities and exports it into a format suitable for screening at FAMU (see FAMU Technological Standards). Consulting with the lecturer is possible during the entire semester after individual arrangement.

Timely and neatly done colourgrading.

Assessment:

Credit. Presenting the finished grading and export of the finished exercise to the lecturer and to the supervisor of Lighting Tonality is required to be credited.
