Learning outcomes of the course unit

Through the series of seminars the students will learn how broad and organically changing is the field of documentary film,

how the styles cross and overlap.

Realizing the many channels of distribution from the traditional movie theatre and festival presentation , classic TV broadcast to social media and digital distribution.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Students will apply their skills and technical knowledge from other courses and seminars in CINKK program.

Course contents

Cinematography department of FAMU invites you to an online seminar Camera in Documentary film with Samir Ljuma, DOP of “ Honeyland,” the Oscar nominee for documentary feature in 2020 and the winner of many awards around the globe.

Samir Ljuma is a Macedonian cinematographer and producer. He worked as DOP on several documentary films and collaborated with various film directors from Macedonia and abroad, including AVEC L'AMOUR by Ilija Cvetkovski and HONEYLAND by Tamara Kotevska and Ljubomir Stefanov. (Winner of the Oscar for the best documentary film in 2020)

Samir will offer a presentation including behind the scenes photos and inside information.

„The focus will be more inspirational to motivate the students to work in every circumstance no mater of the budget and filming condition“. (S.L.)

The presentation will be followed by Q&A.
