Learning outcomes of the course unit
As a result of the course, students will become familiar with post-production software and master the basic procedures for processing any digital content into a printable form and a basic understanding of color management and its importance in the digital production chain.

Course contents
The course provides basic procedures in digital image post-production, an introduction to color management, and a brief background in color theory in a digital context. From the acquisition of digital data per se by scanning or other means, through the software processes of archiving, editing and cleaning the data, through adjustments for specific printing methods, enlarging or shrinking the data using the full range of capabilities of current software procedures, to the actual preparation of the data for digital printing or presentation. The second part of the course is then the processing of digital content into printable PDFs, with emphasis on basic control and export specifics for various print production technologies. The third part is then the introduction to specific printing on student-accessible printing presses.

2/ introduction to colour management and brief background on colour theory in a digital context

4/ software processes ranging from archiving, editing and cleaning of data, through adjustments for specific printing methods
5/ the enlargement or reduction of data using the full range of capabilities of current software processes to the actual preparation of data for digital printing or presentation.
6 - 9/ processing digital content into printable PDFs, with emphasis on basic control and export specifics for various print production technologies.
10-11/ introduction to the specifics of printing on accessible presses
12/ assessment of student progress based on acquired knowledge, skills and completion of subtasks.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course ends with a classified examination. The prerequisite for passing the course is regular attendance at the seminar, preparation and presentation of the required exercises for the final examination.
