Learning outcomes of the course unit
The aim of the course is to consolidate and develop language skills (both receptive: reading and listening) and productive (speaking and writing)) while acquiring field-specific vocabulary (music and dance).
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- to understand and discuss main ideas of intermediate-level texts, related to music and dance
- to communicate using the areas of grammar covered by the course (see the detailed course outline below)
Mode of study
Seminars focus on building students' knowledge of musica and dance-related vocabulary. They also involve practising listening and reading comprehension skills and speaking skills (through partner and group discussions).
Study work load:
Seminars 26 hours
Preparation for seminars (Individual study) 26 hours
Writing assignment 3 hours
Preparation for final exam (individual study) 13hours
Total: 78 hours (1ECTS = 26 study hours)
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Approx. B1 level (based on the Common European Framework of Reference) at the start of the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
- compulsory attendance (min. 60%)
- activity in class 20%
- writing assignment (see the Moodle course, Week 7) - a pre-requisite for the final exam (compulsory for all students taking the course) 20%
- a list of 10 words related to your area of study, including explanation, example sentences, can be submitted as a mind map 20%
