Students are introduced to the development of European music from the Renaissance to the Classic.

Learning outcomes

To acquire a basic overview of the development of music and it particulars and main potential of notation and function in society in the Renaissance, Baroque and Classic periods. To recognize in recorded music some pivotal periods, possibly composers in typically repeated examples.
