Contents
The starting point for teaching is the comprehensive and proven A. J. Vaganova system, which systematically develops the teaching of the elements of classical dance from the simplest form up to the mastery of the Classical Ballet technique. The system enables the acquisition of all knowledge about the order and combinations of each element according to the methodical rules.
In addition to this, emphasis is placed on finding new ways and possibilities in teaching Classical Ballet Technique, as well as knowledge of the functioning of the body, building on the knowledge and knowledge from the subject of Dance Medicine and Kinesiology.
The curriculum envisages the teaching of pedagogical principles for the development of desirable physical dispositions through a precisely dosed regime of load, repetition, maximum mental concentration and understanding of the material discussed.
- Detailed analysis of the elements of classical dance technique of the 2nd and 3rd year according to the curriculum of the eight-year dance conservatory
- development of methodical thinking
- understanding and comprehension of the principles of classical dance technique
- the ability to logically arrange and combine elements of a given stage of training
- to create and present appropriate combinations
- mastering all this on the basis of orientation in musical accompaniment, including communication with the accompanist
- analysis of the pedagogical presentation and peer feedback, both from the teacher and the students.
The system of theoretical analysis and practical tasks teaches allows students to recognize, fix and develop pedagogical approaches in accordance with the ability to create an appropriate creative and communicative atmosphere.
Emphasis is placed on an individual approach to each student.

Analysis of transferred exercises from the bar and new elements au milieu and allegro (indicative list):
au millieu:
- exercises are performed in major and minor poses (croisée, effacée, écartée devant and derriére)
- arabesque (1st-4th), 1st-3rd arabesque with toe to floor on extended standing leg and in demi- plié
- Adagio: temps-lié par terre with bends, relevé lent, développé
- 1st - 6th port de bras
- turnovers: détourné, soutenu en tournant dehors and en dedans in place and out of place, turnover fouetté en dehors and en dedans, half-turns on one foot
- preparation and tours from positions II, V and IV
- pas de bourée simple, without change, dessus-dessous, balotté
- pas fondu from the place forward and backward,
allegro:
- temps levé sauté in IV position, in V position, on one leg and in 1. arabesque
- pas échappé in position II with ending on one foot, pas échappé in position II with battu, grand échappé in positions II and IV

- pas assemblé: forward, backward, double sideways, with movement from the spot

Learning outcomes
Knowledge of the basic position of the body, methodology and methodological procedures in teaching classical dance technique at the level of the basic stage of the stage of teaching according to the standard curriculum in the system of teaching and studying in dance conservatories (Year 1 – Year 3), but also in other types of institutions (e.g. ZUŠ, private schools, hobby studios, courses). Methodological analysis, assignments, rehearsal and correction of errors of individual elements, creation of simple enchaînements.

Evaluation methods and criteria
Oral examination of practical and theoretical knowledge of the methodology of classical dance basic stages of teaching.
Other requirements: 80% attendance, activity in teaching, observing at the dance conservatory and ballet studio including written reflection.
