The intensive block teaching is planned as an outbound course (Poněšice, Beroun), the purpose of which is to build teamwork (team building), mutual flexibility, improvisation in the spontaneously fulfilling the assignments and the implementation of immediate creative ideas, discussions and communication creativity and strategy. It therefore focuses on collaborative and focused teamwork between students and teachers and their formal and informal communication. The non-traditional environment naturally stimulates creative artistic processes (site specific), promotes innovative perceptions of learning and initiates a community atmosphere and dialogue.

The aim of the outbount course is to systematically complement and expand the concept of dance with systems that are not taught in the weekly schedule and course load of the dance department, but are part of the professional knowledge of dance pedagogy and didactics, choreography and theory. The content includes courses and seminars in psychological and communication skills, philosophical and conceptual debates on the need for arts education, as well as physiotherapy, including a course in medical assistance. There is space for debates and open discussions, introducing evaluation systems, as well as creating innovative teaching concepts based on student reflection.

The means for interpretation, practice and mastery of academic requirements are through the thoughtful selection of visiting national and international teachers and their exposure to existing teaching systems.

Learning outcomes

Students will gain an overview, become familiar with new principles and methods of dance techniques and theoretical disciplines. They will be able to prevent injuries and react in case of necessary treatment. They will learn better communication and presentation skills, teamwork and organization.
