Mitchell, Santiago Mitre, Jeff Nichols and Rebecca Zlotowski have all been revealed at La Semaine de la Critique.

On the occasion of its sixtieth anniversary, La Semaine de la Critique travels to all continents to present the films selected in recent years to audiences around the world and to raise awareness among the younger generation about the challenges of film criticism to guide the viewer in the age of new media.

Critics' Week has been held since 1962 under the auspices of the French Association of Film Critics as a parallel section of the Cannes International Film Festival. It does not focus on the length or genre of films but seeks to encourage the first film attempts of talented filmmakers from all over the world.

Filmmakers such as Bernardo Bertolucci, Leos Carax, Ken Loach, Jacques Audiard, François Ozon, and Gaspar Noé got their start here. What is most interesting is the way in which the section works with the selected filmmakers over the long term - Critics' Week also acts as an incubator, helping filmmakers to develop their next projects.
