Mexican director Carlos Reygadas belongs among the leading personalities of the current author film. His Luz silenciosa (2007) won the Jury Award in Cannes and Post Tenebras Lux (2012) won the Best Director award in Cannes. The filmmaker’s highly singular approach to mise-en-scene, acting, sound design and editing allows for targeting broadly general philosophical, religious and other themes. At the director’s request, the master class for FAMU students will take place in the form of a debate with students. Carlos Reygadas welcomes active involvement, so it is desirable that applying students bring prepared questions.
