This is a series of lectures by guest theorists, artists and educators on the topics of contemporary art and new technologies. The lectures are intended for FAMU students, students of other universities and the public. They are held in English or are interpreted into English. The aim of the course is to introduce students to topics not covered in the regular curriculum and especially to the views of prominent figures in the field. A list of invited guests and a schedule of lectures is published at the beginning of each semester.

The course is organized in cooperation between CAS and KF, is open to the whole AMU, is conducted in English, if the guest speaks Czech the lecture is interpreted into English.

The course concept fills a gap between other FAMU courses and focuses on mapping current events in the visual arts. Each semester features 12 lecturers, consisting of active visual artists, curators, gallerists, theorists, and art historians. The course uses its own flexibility, and each semester's cycles are designed around current topics, important events, and are based on an analysis of audience feedbacks as part of the conclusion of the course.

Learning outcomes

The student is able to reflect on and compare with his/her own work the creative approaches of prominent personalities in the field. The student is familiar with the rules of public professional presentation and discussion.
