The aim of the workshop is to create composites, i.e. complex graphic images composed of photographic material, typefaces, original layouts and artistic elements. The workshop is intended for those across the grades with advanced knowledge of graphic programs (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and especially for those interested in expanding their skills towards graphic work or art-direction. Knowledge of 3D software (Cinema 4D or Blender, Keyshot) is an advantage.
Typography and contemporary image is a practical and conceptual workshop. Its students will consult the progress of semester or own author's projects, and their extensions or parallels should then emerge in the workshop. Students learn to view themes through a graphic language with high technical and aesthetic demands. The workshop will be based on an individual dialogue and the search for combinations and ways to create complex graphic images, so that the audience understands in principle that it is not necessary to be a typographer to choose the right typeface, to know the basic typographic rules for creative work with type or the basics of polygraphic post-production, etc. A minimum of one completed output will be required after five lessons.
Learning outcomes
The student can create complex graphic images composed of photographic material, type, original layouts and artistic elements. The student can work with graphic and image editors.
