This course introduces students both in theory and practice to the wide spectrum of techniques and technologies of stop-motion animation; except doll animation which is taught separately. Home preparations.

Learning outcomes

1st Semester:

In classes students will be introduced to the basic parts of developed stop-motion surface animation technologies and the particulars of their creation. Following will be attempts to create one's own animation etude in the given technology: paper, surface, sihlouette. Part of instruction in this semester will be an introduction to working with the multi-plane animation table.

Creation of assigned animation etudes with the appropriate technology
