20.4. se bude konat projekce Marínových filmů v kině Národního filmového archivu Ponrepo. Pablo Marín se ve svém filmovém díle – natočeném téměř výhradně na super 8 (který byl významným formátem v dějinách argentinské experimentální kinematografie) – zabývá osobním a všedním životem. V průběhu let vytvořil jakýsi filmový deník, abstraktní a náznakový, v němž pomocí několikanásobných expozic, masek a popolíčkového snímání zkoumá možnosti kinematografie jako minimálního aparátu. Poetikou vycházející z formálních postupů částečně navazuje na Claudia Caldiniho, zásadní postavu scény experimentálního filmu v Buenos Aires 70. a 80. let jako i na světovou avantgardu.

Výstižným označením pro jeho kameru by mohl být název jednoho z jeho filmů „la trampa de luz“ (světelná past). Podobně důležité jako jeho tvůrčí aktivity je jeho psaní o experimentálním (argentinském) filmu, kurátorská, překladatelská a pedagogická činnost.

Lze se také připojit na audiovizuální seminář CAS 19.4. (uč. 428), kde Pablo Marín představí svou tvorbu v kontextu argentinského a světového experimentálního filmu.

Pablo Marín's film work –filmed almost exclusively in super 8 (a format that was essential in the history of Argentinian experimental cinema)– delves into the personal and the quotidian.

Over the years, he has brought together a sort of film journal, abstract and oblique, where, by the means of superimpositions, masks, and frame by frame techniques, he puts to the

test the potentialities of cinema.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Participation at the screening and a short reflection (2-3 NS) on Marín's work or a poetic response to the films seen and a meeting with the filmmaker (in the form of a text or image) are required to complete the course

Pablo Marín (Buenos Aires, 1982) is a critic, filmmaker and translator. As an independent researcher and curator, he has presented programmes on Argentinean cinema in the United States, Canada, Spain, Austria, Finland and Switzerland. He translated books by Jonas Mekas, Stan Brakhage and John Waters, among others, and have just published Una luz revelada, a personal collection of essays on Argentine experimental cinema. His film Resistfilm (2014) won the best Avant-Garde Film at Filmadrid, and his latest, Trampa de luz (2021), was awarded the Principal

Online Prize of the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen.
