Practical performance of the dances. Individual variations and whole dances with their variants. The student deepens their skills, broadens their experience and awareness of folk dance technique by practical learning in the hall.

Thematic areas:

1)Other dance steps in a more complex task and execution: each student works on mastering the dance steps first individually, and then in pairs. Accurate technical mastery of the given step is the basis for all possible executions (straight, in body filming, in turning right and left).

2)Mastered steps are combined into larger units, so-called combinations. Technically more demanding steps are joined together, the next step is a dance in a pair, which elaborates the mastered variations. Couple dancing is given a lot of attention in this phase of the lesson. Different pair holds and ways to exchange holds in a pair are combined.

3)Rhythmic variations of steps with regional variations: Steps are performed in different spatial, tempo and rhythmic variations. In the technical implementation, the rhythmic change forms a step of change, which is the basis of the diversity of folklore areas.

4)Other possible variants and special steps of folk dance from ethnographic areas. Through demonstrations and practical comparison of the differences in the steps of individual areas, we improve the character and way of dancing, which is typical in the given area.

5)Combination of steps: 2/4 „kolečkový“ (wheel) step with walking with skips and half run - kolečko with „furiant“ rhythm, 3/4 kolečkový step with detained step and horizontal arch – „Kolečko smrti“ („Wheel of death“), Rokycanská with mill underhand of the girl.

6)Selected dances of folklore areas: Chodsko, Chodské kolo and dance „do kolečka“ („to the wheel“), Valašsko – Kovářský (blacksmith), Černá vlna, Bystřický, Točená, Šotyška, Odzemek, Záhoří – Špiclpolka

Learning outcomes

The student will get information about the region, its processing and use in teaching folk dances, in preparing materials for teaching folk dance. They will master the practical performance of the dances and their variants. They will be able to describe technical exercises and explain the nature of individual dances. The course extends the already covered material with more complicated dance material and dances from other folklore areas.
