Film Language 2 delves into the diverse facets of filmmaking, guiding students to grasp the nuances of developing their own cinematic language. From script analysis to actor collaboration, set design to soundscapes, and industry dynamics, this course aims to provide a holistic understanding of the interplay between these elements in crafting cinematic language. Students will learn to shape compelling stories and gain insights into the complexities of the film industry. The course also features guest speakers from the film industry, aiming to give students a connection between theory and the real-world perspective.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course students will:
- learn the critical and analytical thinking of the use of film language and misanscene
- learn how to analyze own or a foreign screenplay and prepare its visual interpretations
- learn the advanced use of film language and other elements of the filmic expression in service of their narrative stratégy
- consider cooperation with key creative departments for the realization of the film's cinematic expression
- with the elements of film language in mind, by the end of the class, students will have the
- basics of a new story prepared, including a synopsis, director's statement, and visual concept, setting the stage for future creative projects

Evaluation methods and criteria
Minimum required attendance to the class is + 70%
Pass grade is based on the the active participation in guided and non-guided discussions.
The course grade will be calculated as follows:
