Module 1: Acoustic and psychoacoustics of Sound; Anatomy of Sound and Sound representation in the digital domain.

Module 2: Sound in Space; Microphones and Voice in Media.

Module 3: Sound Effects and their roles in audio production and Sound Design.

Module 4: Concepts of audio post-production workflow. Philosophy and practical strategies of preparation, mixing and mastering in Audio Post Production.

Learning outcomes

Aim of the course is to provide students with a high-level introduction to the fundamental topics of Sound Studio Practices in relation to Sound Design. The topics will include acoustic and psychoacoustic of sound, principles of recording and digital audio; basics of architectural acoustics, role of human voice in media, practical and philosophical principle of audio production from the perspective of project preparation, mixing and mastering.
