Obsah
During the study of puppetry techniques classes, emphasis is placed on familiarizing students with individual types of puppets and their methods of animation, as the basis of the craft in puppet theatre.
Course contents:
- Introductory lesson
- basic characteristics of puppets and puppet theatre stage
- characteristics of puppet design: proportions, movement possibilities, material possibilities, anatomy and construction of the puppet
- exercises for puppet animation techniques (marionettes, glove puppets and shadows): rhythmic, vocal, movement, spatial and relational
- puppet and prop, puppet in dialogue
- puppet theatre and entertainment, comedy and humour on the puppet stage and on the puppet stage with muppets
- basic characteristics of hand theatre
- hand as puppet
- dramatic text – monologue for puppet
- individual and collective performance with puppet
Výsledky učení
After completing the course, students are able to develop their artistic talent prerequisites that enable the creation, realization and expression of their own artistic ideas on a selected puppet stage (with a selected puppet) and have the skills necessary for their realization. After completing the course, students know the basic technique of puppet animation, master the anatomy and basic construction technology of puppets. Students are able to animate a puppet and create an authentic puppet character based on its artistic and technological form.
Students are able to create and realize a puppet performance based on a dramatic text with a selected puppet.

Hodnoticí metody a kritéria
To pass the course Puppetry Techniques 1, the student must actively participate in at least 70% of the lessons – practical exercises and participate in the final presentation of their own artistic performance – individual/collective performance with a chosen puppet. The continuous assessment includes individual preparation and presentation of puppetry assignments. The final exam includes a public presentation of a puppet stage performance of at least 4 minutes in length.
