Obsah

This course combines classic puppetry techniques, dramaturgy, direction, scenography and technology. Students are led by teachers representing individual professions in the puppet theatre. The course is composed of three parts. The first, theoretical, introduces students to the given puppetry technique - history, technical possibilities. The second part, creative, will introduce students to creation in the puppet theatre. Creation of a theatre script / libretto / mood board, creation of puppets, scenes, costumes. The third part, practical, will offer the students practical exercises with a puppet and then the creation of a complete miniature.

The main goal of the course is to create a space for students to work with a story in order to adapt it to the stage. Working on a specific topic while creating visually and technically inventive, energetic, communicative and semantically up-to-date images in the puppet theatre.

The performance should reflect individuality of the creator and at the same time should combine visual, musical and artistic style in relation to the chosen theatrical genre. Students will get experience and skills in all areas: as actors - puppeteers, theatre directors and artists.

Course content:

Preparation of a theatrical script. Practical adjustment of art material and scenography concept for a puppet show. Creation with prepared puppets and other staging components (stage design, costumes, light design, sound) .. Acting, puppet animation, voice and body movement., all under pedagogical supervision.
