Learning outcomes of the course unit:

Předmět si klade za cíl:

1. seznámit posluchače se základními možnostmi kompozice a prostorových vztahů (architektura, sochařství, environment,land art),

2. zprostředkovat posluchačům základní informace o vývoji divadelního prostoru, scénografie i jejích jednotlivých prostředků (typy divadelních prostorů, scénografické prostředky),

3. umožnit posluchačům osobní zkušenost práce s dramatickým textem s ohledem na prostor a scénografii (cesta od textu k prostoru dramatu).

Ve výsledku jde o pochopení místa a smyslu scénografie v procesu tvorby divadelní inscenace nebo dramatické akce. Absolvent by měl být schopen použít v praxi prvky výtvarné práce ve struktuře inscenace jako součást divadelního jazyka.

Contact instruction, Production, Discussion, Analysis of recorded theatre productions, readings, text analysis.

Prerequisites and co-requisites:

- Completion of the introductory theatre project

- Knowledge and experience in working with materials

- Abilities in the perception of substance quality and space arrangement.

Course contents:

Introduction to set design. This course makes use of knowledge acquired in working with material and masses and expanding abilities in the perception of the quality of masses for theatre and art and spatial orgzanization at the selected study level.

1. Development of the stage space and set design tools. Form and orientation of the stage and auditorium.

2. Set design dramaturgy: practical experience with text analysis from a set design viewpoint.

3. The artistic directing concept - building the artistic directing concept of a text and its graphic recording through artistic-graphic tools.

Credit is awarded for class and exercise participation and the independent paper.

Conditions for completing the course are creating one's own set design proposal, explication and defense of that concept based on the narrative.
