Study aims:

- Introduce the basic concepts used in the theory and practice of contemporary stage arts.

- Adopt and understand the basic principles of the function of a theatre piece.

- Ability to scholarly and precisely analyse and review various stage shapes.

- Understand the quality and specific features of stage arts.

Course contents:

This course covers some basic concepts in theatre theory enabling one to perceive and review the system and structure of theatre as a specific type of art.

Basic topics:

Theatre space

Performance and production (stage form, production)

Performance

Theatre situation, its rise and function

Theatre specific signals system

Basic subsystems of a theatre system (motivation-management, audience, stage)
