The study aim is to contextualize set-design in theatre arts and arts in general.
In the history of set-design (European and domestic) students will learn a respect for the history of the study.
To awaken in the student an interest in the diversity of graphic viewpoints.
To have a bearing in the historical and current material with consideration of one's own work.

General overview of the history of set-design
Basic knowledge of the history of Czech set-design.
- Course contents:
-
Set-design (theatre space and costuming in the widest sense) from the the beginnings of the development of theatre to the end of the 19th century. Set-design is presented as one possible artistic expression. During instruction the development of theatre space as an expression of the period and social conditions in relation to the history of art overall is covered. Part of instruction is attendance at theature performances and their group review, also in a written paper. Set-design and the 20th century. A trace of the greatest figures of European set-design.
