- To acquaint students with the basic ways of cooperation of music and text
- To acquaint students with the basic characteristics of vocal and vocal instrumental genres
- To make the students acquainted with the possibilities of combining and overlaps of the different types and genres of vocal and vocal instrumental music

Course contents
Course contents Music and word 3 includes introduction to the main characteristics of vocal and vocal instrumental genres and their analytical assessment.
- Introduction to the Problem:
speech spoken, spoken, thought (relationship of words and music), individual genres and genres and relations between them
- forms of spiritual and secular
- song, aria, choir
- cantata and oratorium
- Opera and opera libretto
- operetta, musical
- stage music to drama
- melodrama
- Mixed and marginal forms with text
- vocal symphony
- Symphonic poem
- program ouverture
- song without words, characteristic composition
- Summary, discussion, types for further continuous self-education
