Learning outcomes of the course unit

Choral and instrumental ensemble of harmonious sound.

Mode of study

  1. Lecture.
  2. A glimpse of the Baroque, Classic, Romance, adjustment of jazz compositions, orchestras according to playing opportunities, playing all types of musical instruments, solo and ensemble singing. Working with a microphone and microphone port, improvisation, analysis of viewed (musical notation) and heard (music recording), choral polyphony, jazz schemes, polyrhythm.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Precision of vocal performance, expression, dynamic, instrumental play.

Course contents

Curriculum:

Selections from vocal works of the Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism, jazz retro style.

Syllabus :

H. Purcell , J. S. Bach, W. A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven, A. Bruckner, B. Smetana, A. Dvořák.

Also practice in compositions according to the instructions of the senior teacher in the actor's workshop.

A. Bruckner: Choral mense

W. A. Mozart: Requiem

A. Dvořák: Requiem

Notation and recordings of work by the mentioned composers.

Other relevant notation according to the teacher.

Assessment methods and criteria

Credit is awarded based on activity in exercises.

Note

Elective course for all DAMU students. Maximum of 15 students from other DAMU Depts.
