Learning outcomes of the course unit

The result of this workshop is to acquire theory knowledge in working with Wet plate Collodion photography. The subsequent practical examples illustrate the practice process in pouring, sensitizing, exposing, development, setting and later fixing of the metal plate on which the collodion is deposited. This process requires extensive experience and achieving a stable process requires long-term practice.

Seminar, demonstration and practical use.

Prerequisites and co-requisites

Passed of the basic training in Atelier of classical photography or workshop dealing with this issue.

Course contents

Seminar is about historical context of the places and the connections of historical photographic technique. The seminar is followed by implementation and practical using of the wet colloid process in the exterior and using an improvised photographic darkroom.
