Learning objective:

The subject in which the core creative part of the dissertation assignment is implemented. The doctoral student carries out independent creative activity in the field of autonomous music composition and its interdisciplinary transitions leading to the fulfilment of the graduate profile and fulfilling the content of the individual study plan.

Composition in the field of vocal, instrumental and intermedia.

Learning outcomes

The realisation of a work, or series of works, which correspond in their seriousness to the nature of the artistic part of the dissertation output. The work is original, integral and distinct, and demonstrates the ability of the doctoral student to further his/her compositional development. It is characterized by a versatile quality of compositional technique and a unique rootedness in the contemporary creative scene at home and in the international context.

Literature

Scores and recordings of music related to the actual subject of the dissertation study.

All logistical and technological facilities of the Department of Composition at HAMU, in particular: musical instruments, teaching and study rooms, two multimedia laboratories, extensive equipment storage, notographic technology, doctoral faculty facilities.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Each year, the doctoral student presents to the departmental board a summary of the works of art created in the given academic year in accordance with the individual study plan. If necessary, the doctoral student shall justify changes from the originally envisaged plan of creation.
