his transdisciplinary course combines virtual learning components with participation in an international symposium dedicated to the phenomenon of inner speech in instant composition, dance improvisation, somatic practice, and creative pedagogy.

The course approaches the symposium as a shared research environment in which practical studio work and experimentation are interconnected with informed discussions and theoretical inquiry. Together, students watch performances, create compositions, and critically reflect upon their practice. Students engage with internationally recognized artists, educators, and researchers working across dance, choreography, somatics, psychosomatics, phenomenology, cultural psychology, practice-based research, and pedagogy.

The course highlights the role of inner speech as a mediator between embodied experience, creative decision-making, performative action, and reflective awareness. Through intensive psychophysical studio practice, performances, discussions, readings, and reflective writing, students investigate the real-time relationship between bodily action, perception, imagination, language, and composition.

Výsledky učení

Upon successful completion of the course, and commensurate with their prior experience, students will be able to:

• demonstrate an informed understanding of contemporary practices in somatics, psychosomatics, instant composition, and dance improvisation;
• apply principles of embodied awareness within individual and collective creative processes;
• analyze the role of inner speech in performative action, decision-making, and composition;
• engage critically with selected theoretical perspectives from cultural psychology, phenomenology, pedagogy, and practice-based research;
• reflect on their own artistic and/or pedagogical practice using appropriate theoretical and experiential frameworks;
• articulate observations and insights through oral discussion and written reflection;
• demonstrate an increased capacity for real-time self-reflection during artistic action, rather than solely in retrospect;
• understand the foundational principles of practice-based and artistic research.

Literatura

Reading materials will be distributed prior to the commencement of the symposium. Students are expected to engage with these materials independently and participate actively in theoretical discussions throughout the course.

Hodnoticí metody a kritéria

To successfully complete the course and earn 6 ECTS credits, students must:

• actively participate in all virtual and on-site components of the program;
• maintain 100% attendance during the intensive symposium week and mandatory online sessions;
• complete all required reading assignments;
• engage productively in discussions and reflective activities;
• submit an individual written reflection (maximum 5 pages) by 31 July 2026.

Assessment Grading: Pass / Fail:

The final assessment is based on the fulfilment of all course requirements, active engagement, demonstrated reflective capacity, and the successful completion of the written reflection.
