The Orientation course is designed to support incoming international students in their transition to the academic, cultural, and operational environment of the department and the academy. The course provides practical guidance on navigating institutional structures, including an introduction to the department’s facilities (studios, labs, equipment, and technical support), safety procedures, and booking and reservation systems. Students are familiarized with the curriculum structure, expectations of studio-based learning, and modes of communication with faculty and staff. The course also addresses everyday logistics such as accessing university services, using digital platforms, and orienting oneself within the city and its cultural context. Through guided tours, presentations, and informal meetings, students gain the knowledge and confidence necessary to effectively engage with their studies and integrate into the academic community.

Výsledky učení

Students will:

-gain orientation within the institutional structure of the academy and department

-become familiar with available facilities, technical resources, and safety regulations

-learn how to use booking and reservation systems for equipment and spaces

-understand the organization of study, communication channels, and academic expectations

-acquire practical knowledge for navigating daily life in the university and the city

-develop confidence in engaging with the academic environment and support systems
