Obsah

This course focuses on the fundamentals of author self-presentation and the creation of a strong author portfolio. It consists of a lecture and seminar part. The lecture portion introduces students to the basic knowledge needed to navigate and move through the world of fine art and photography and reinforces the knowledge leading to a well-focused and successful self-presentation. The seminar and tutorial part then emphasizes primarily the gradual building and presentation of an artistic portfolio, which learners will develop during the semester and which will be subjected to repeated critical reflection.

  1. Introductory class - introduction to the structure of the course, first review of the portfolio, self-presentation formats and basic components of the portfolio
  2. Graphic design of the portfolio - how to technically layout and visually design an art portfolio
  3. Creating text formats - artist statement, short bio, CV/exhibition history, project statements
  4. Contemporary art ecosystem - institutions, shows, opportunities, self-presentation in an art context
  5. Photography festivals - orientation and self-presentation in the festival environment
  6. Joint presentation and critical reflection of portfolios
  7. Copyright for artists and photographers
  8. Consultation of the graphic design of the portfolio with the graphic designer
  9. Fundamentals of management and PR in an artistic and creative context
  10. Oral presentations - how to present your work concisely and effectively using a portfolio
  11. Portfolio Review with curator/curator
  12. Final Consultation

Výsledky učení

The student has a basic overview of the institutions of the world of art and photography, is able to navigate them and present his/her work in different contexts. They also have an awareness of key formats of self-presentation and the basics of copyright issues and practical skills in PR and marketing in a cultural context. By the end of the course, the learner has their own finished portfolio, on which they have received repeated professional reflection in terms of content, practice and graphic form, including completing a Portfolio Review with an external curator/curator.

Předpoklady a další požadavky

The prerequisite is active participation and continuous work to improve the portfolio. Basic skills in any graphic software in which the learner creates the portfolio are also a logical prerequisite.

Hodnoticí metody a kritéria

Regular attendance at thematic lectures and active participation in seminars are required to receive credit. Students are also obliged to gradually finalize their portfolio, without which the course cannot be successfully completed.
