Learning outcomes of the course unit
Lecture on higher music theor issues. Basic topics: Introduction to Music Theory, Music Theory Classification and Analysis, Applied Music Theory, Research in Music Theory Classification and Analysis. The aim is to prepare Music theory professionals with perspectives for application in Musicology and Education.
Mode of study
Contact instruction. Lectures over complex music theory issues. Critical comparison of texts and applications of analyses of selected music structure examples.

Harmony (continued)
- consonance and dissonance in the traditional and contemporary concept, approaches of various music theory schools and individual writers on the issues of consonance and dissonance.
- Harmonic dualism and monism
- Tonality and atonality
Music form and tectonics
- Music form
- Structure and basic issuesof the traditional study of music form, various concepts of music forms
- Priniciple of identity and contrast in music form.
- Dividing music forms (quantitative view)
- Application of tectonic functions in music forms
- Music blocks, contrasts and unifying tools, the tectonic line of a composition
- Mutual work in music form and tectonics, various concepts of tectonics.
