Contents

In the summer semester we get acquainted with other positions from the developmental series, we develop the ability to combine them and create a targeted set of them, e.g. for warm-up or compensatory exercise, we analyze some yoga positions, sun salutations, we learn to incorporate the principles of healthy movement into more complex positions - e.g. balancing positions on the hands. In this semester students are already being guided to be independent and responsible for their movement, developing the ability to set themselves up well in the pose so that the execution is at its best. They learn how to observe others, correct positions, offer solutions for optimal body alignment, and perceive quality and functional movement.

Thematic areas:

Exercising in developmental exercise series- developing correct technique

Examples of exercise programmes

Sun salutation and its variations

Ability to see an incorrectly based movement, be able to correct it

How to approach your physical disabilities

The importance of perceiving the uniqueness of everyone's body

Gentle techniques: breathing techniques, relaxation, meditation, visualization of movement

During the summer semester, the student is already thinking about the topic of his/her final thesis.

The basis must be the material covered in this course and the student's own physical disability that he/she perceives in his/her body. In the final thesis, he/she then proposes how to approach his/her limitations and how to keep himself/herself fit through exercise and access to the body, thus avoiding unnecessary wear and tear on the musculoskeletal system or injuries.

Learning outcomes

The student is introduced to the existence of developmental movement patterns from which healthy movement is based. The student learns how to improve questionable patterns and optimize movement. Exercises from the developmental patterns will serve as quality material for future teachers to create warm-ups, compensatory exercises, build stability and develop mobility, thus promoting optimal movement and greater physical fitness. We take mindfulness of the body, awareness of the finer layers and processes in the body, breath work and calming the mind as integral to a happy body.

Last but not least, the student acquires the awareness that every body is unique, even with its limits and limitations, begins to respect this and to adapt the body to its (in)disposition in a way that avoids rapid wear and tear, injury, or chronic pain.
