A detailed analysis of the elements of classical dance technique of the middle stage of training - the 4th and 5th year according to the curriculum of the eight-year Dance Conservatory.

The starting point for teaching is the comprehensive and proven A. J. Vaganova system, which systematically develops the teaching of classical dance elements from the simplest form to the mastery of the Classical Ballet technique.

In addition, emphasis is placed on the search for new ways and possibilities in the teaching of Classical Ballet Technique, as well as on the knowledge of the functioning of the body, building on the knowledge and knowledge from the subject of Dance Medicine.

The purpose of practicing and analyzing individual elements, including conducting the whole lesson, is to learn, fix and develop pedagogical approaches in accordance with the ability to create an appropriate creative and communicative atmosphere.

The emphasis is on an individual approach to each student.

mainly „medium“ jumps, beginning of teaching „big“ jumps

• all basic jumps are enriched with battu: échappé, assemblé, petit jeté, ballonné, entrechat: royal, quatre, trois, cinque, basic brisé front and back, petit i grand assemblé porté, grand sissonne ouverte, grand sissonne fermé and fondu, grand sissonne tombé, grand temps lié sauté, petit i grand emboité, pas ballotté, pas failli, pas jeté fermé, pas jeté fondu, rond de jambe en l´air sauté- simple i double, pas chassé, jumps en tournant: échappé, changement - tour en l´air, sissonne simple i ouverte, petit jeté, pas emboité, grand pas jeté to different pose.

Learning outcomes

• Practical and theoretical knowledge of classical dance methodology of the middle stage of training (Year 4 – Year 5 of dance conservatory).
• Ability to lead a dance lesson completely independently.
• Development of methodical thinking, understanding and comprehension of the principles of classical dance technique,
• The ability to logically arrange and combine elements of a given stage of instruction, to create appropriate combinations and then to be able to create and practically lead an entire dance lesson. All this based on the orientation in musical accompaniment, including communication with the accompanist.
• Analysis of the teaching presentation and peer feedback, both from the teacher and the students.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Oral examination of practical and theoretical knowledge of classical dance methodology of the middle stage of training (4th - 5th year).

Other requirements: 80% attendance, active participation in classes, attendance at the dance conservatory and ballet studio including written reflection.
