Contents

The content of the course of Didactics and Methodology of Modern and Contemporary Dance 3 has two parts, theoretical and practical, in which the student is introduced to the main trends of modern dance in Europe and America. The theoretical part is aimed at systematically expanding the professional knowledge of the methodology of modern dance techniques by analysing their individual movement principles and didactic procedures. Everything is put in context and in relation to the directions of contemporary dance.

Parallel exercises are used to verify the acquired information in practice. At the same time, the teaching emphasizes the way of construction of practical lessons of different types with regard to different target groups, the ability to logically arrange individual dance elements and to connect them in a meaningful way in dance links designed for different levels of performers.

The course is closely linked to the Modern and Contemporary Dance Pedagogical Seminar, Modern and Contemporary Dance Training.
