Learning objective:

The aim of the study is to master and practically connect the step material of the dances selected, to safely technically master the step material of different areas. The student deepens his skills through practical verification.

Thematic areas:

Technical basis of the areas: each student will learn the dance steps of the area individually. The exact execution of the steps is different in each area and therefore much attention must be paid to them. Each dance step is performed in different spatial, tempo and rhythmic variations. It is then possible to come closer to the character of the area under discussion in the execution of the steps and dances.

Variations and the way the steps are performed: technically mastered steps are bound into larger units that can be combined and then varied. The easier steps are combined first, and then the more technically demanding steps from some of the dances. Later on, students enrich the step bases of the dances according to their own inventiveness and abilities.

Transfer to pair dancing is the next stage of working with step material. Pair dancing is the basis of folk dance and therefore receives a great deal of attention; here we find the basis of partner work for other dance techniques.

Selected dances of folk areas: only some dances from a wide range of areas are selected, or other variations.

Step combinations: vyšlapávaná sousedská with whirling step from kolečko, hopping step and jumping, alternating the number of individual steps in the usual and less usual ways, hopping in rotation in pairs with the exchange of girls in a circle. Combining two-stroke and three-stroke steps into variations for preparation „mateníků“ (dance with variable beat) like sousedská - poskočný obkročák, sousedská - hladký obkročák, polka - sousedská hladká, polka - mazurka and more possible connection. Lašská polka straight, lašská polka in rotation individually and in pairs, hladký obkročák in pairs with a combination of rotating together and apart, intertwining in four, turning a couple holding a cross at the back in walking, running and jumping..
