Learning objectives:

This course builds on the winter semester course and focuses on the needs of dance educators in the areas of organization, administration, economics, argumentation, management, team leadership, and institutional management. This semester provides instruction in organizational project preparation within the dance educator function, argumentation, promotion, and presentation. Provides knowledge of financial management within the school system and independent entities, and honing the communication, presentation, and teamwork skills of the educator as an influential figure in the field. Places the work of dance artists in the current context of the country's educational and cultural system.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the semester, the student is able to compile a promotional strategy for the project and the brand (educational institution), formulate and present the basic vision and objectives. He/she is familiar with the contemporary dance scene, has insight into current cultural and educational policy, understands contractual relations, team needs and collaboration. Gains insight into advanced management, marketing and fundraising of arts projects, is able to write a simple press release

Analyzes his/her own production practice, expectations, outcomes and obstacles in a term paper. Can articulate the need for production support in the specifics of a dance project.
