The pedagogical seminar serves primarily for independent pedagogical practice, so that students can apply the knowledge gained from classical dance methodology classes. Attention is paid to verbal expression, ability to work with music and accompanist, demonstration and professional correction. All this develops creativity and pedagogical perception.

Meeting and observing various pedagogical personalities, both domestic and foreign, is essential for the improvement of professional pedagogical thinking and action. The workshops organized by the department are an integral part of the study.

The aim of the pedagogical workshop this semester is to apply all the knowledge from the winter semester into practice under the supervision of the teaching faculty.

Self-guided lessons, including self-demonstration of elements and simple combinations.is to develop a methodology for teaching adult amateurs - beginners and intermediate. To observe and analyze the different approach in teaching children, adults and conservatory students.

Thematic areas:

Hands-on instruction for adult clients of beginner and intermediate commercial clients.

Use of classical dance methodology of basic stage of training (1st - 3rd year).

Learning outcomes

The student will demonstrate practical and theoretical knowledge of the methodology of classical dance of the basic stage of teaching (1st - 3rd year of dance conservatory) and its application to the given target group in their pedagogical practice. They are capable of conducting lessons independently and can develop a methodology for teaching adult amateurs. They are able to observe and analyze the different approach in teaching children, adults and conservatory students.

Evaluation methods and criteria

For credit, the student will demonstrate the ability to construct thought, understanding and explication of the dance elements and principles discussed.

Other requirements. Attendance 80%, activity in teaching, creation of portfolio based on reflection from workshops and observing in classes.
