The pedagogical seminar serves primarily for independent pedagogical practice, so that students can apply the knowledge gained from classical dance methodology classes.

Attention is paid to verbal expression, ability to work with music and accompanist, demonstration and professional correction. All this develops creativity and pedagogical perception.

Meeting and observing various pedagogical personalities, both domestic and foreign, is essential for the improvement of professional pedagogical thinking and action. The workshops organized by the department are an integral part of the study.

The aim of the pedagogical workshop in this semester is to apply all the knowledge and experience into practice under the supervision of the teacher educator.

The student should demonstrate the ability to work independently with adult clients in the commercial sphere, including a professional approach, creativity in teaching, and working with music of their choice.

Thematic areas:

Hands-on instruction for adult intermediate and advanced commercial clients.

Use of the classical dance methodology of the intermediate stage (4th-5th grade).

Learning outcomes

The student will demonstrate practical and theoretical knowledge of the methodology of classical dance of the basic stage of teaching (4th - 5th year of dance conservatory) and its application to the given target group in his/her pedagogical practice. They are capable of conducting lessons independently and can develop a methodology for teaching adult amateurs. Can observe and analyse different approaches in teaching children, adults and conservatory students.

Evaluation methods and criteria

For credit, the student will demonstrate the ability to construct thought, understanding and explication of the dance elements and principles discussed.

Other requirements. 80% attendance, activity in teaching, portfolio creation based on reflection from workshops and observing in classes.
