Learning objective:
The pedagogical seminar serves primarily for independent pedagogical practice so that students apply the knowledge gained in classical ballet methodology classes.
Attention is paid to verbal expression, ability to work with music and accompanist, demonstration and professional correction. All this develops creativity and pedagogical perception.
Meeting and observing various pedagogical personalities, both domestic and foreign, is essential for the improvement of professional pedagogical thinking and action. The workshops organized by the department are an integral part of the study.
Thematic areas:
-Objectives and structure of a ballet lesson.
-Music and working with an accompanist, „singing“ and „counting“.
-The relationship between teacher and students.
-Making enchainements and combinations on a given topic within a certain level of teaching.
-Mutual confrontation and analysis.
-Independent assignment and management of the lesson.
-Working with visiting teachers in workshops - analysis - discussion.
Learning outcomes
The student gains experience through a practicum in which they apply their practical and theoretical knowledge of classical ballet methodology at the basic, intermediate and advanced stages (Years 1 - 6). The student is able to create an appropriate lesson structure and choose the right methodological procedures according to the technical level of the students. He gains valuable experience and feedback, which strengthens his complex personality as a dance teacher.

Evaluation methods and criteria
Credit is awarded on the basis of teaching practice during the semester, in which the student must demonstrate the skills and abilities required of a teacher of professional and amateur dance education.
Additional requirements:
- independent teaching experience
- creation of a portfolio
- 80% attendance
- activity in the classroom
- studying literature, searching for resources on YouTube.
