Contents

The teaching content of the Modern and Contemporary Dance 1 Pedagogical Seminar takes place in the form of observing in classes in partner institutions. It also includes theoretical analyses and evaluations in the form of discussions, led by an experienced teacher, which allow to grasp and process the topic from different perspectives and experiences. The student observes the ways of explanation, the use of professional terminology, the adequate choice of methods and methods of evaluation, the solution of specific problems in individuals, etc. The written reflection of the observations teaches the student to clearly formulate the main principles, questions, but also their opinions and attitudes.

The Modern and Contemporary Dance 1 Pedagogical Seminar is closely linked to the course Didactics and Methodology of Modern and Contemporary Dance, Modern and Contemporary Dance Training.

The aim of the study is to introduce different types of dance education and training to professional and non-professional spheres, with an emphasis on teaching modern and contemporary techniques. At the same time, it leads to awareness of the role and role of the teacher, direct confrontation with real situations through teaching at selected state institutions (e.g. conservatories, ZUŠ), in dance companies or in private studios.

Learning outcomes

The student acquires the ability to navigate in various educational institutions, is able to reflect on the acquired experience and apply it to their teaching practice.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Credit is awarded on the basis of written reflection of the experience gained from participation in observations at the institutions visited and active participation in subsequent discussions, attendance at workshops organized by the department and their written reflection (their methodological-didactic analysis), review of one contemporary dance performance seen in a given semester.

Other requirements: 80% attendance, activity in teaching, portfolio production.
