Information on the combined form:
The course is taught in a combined form of contact and non-contact teaching in a ratio of approximately 1:3, i.e. 36 hours distance learning, 14 hours full-time per semester.
The summer semester includes intensive concentrated block teaching of the main subjects.
The content of the Pedagogical Seminar of Classical Dance 2 is mainly the guidance and training of independent pedagogical practice so that students apply the knowledge gained from the classical dance methodology classes. Joint meetings and confrontations allow students to grasp and process the assigned topic from different perspectives and experiences, expanding the art of communication based on practical teaching, which leads to the development of creativity and pedagogical perception.
The course is entirely related to the substance of the classical dance methodology of the 2nd year, where the student gradually elaborates the discussed substance into teaching combinations and subsequent enchaînements.
The aim of the course is to deepen the attention to verbal expression, the ability to work with music and accompanist, demonstration and professional correction. The discussion includes an in-depth analysis of the prepared lesson and an evaluation of its effectiveness.
Examples of topics:
- Teaching classical dance in related dance and sports disciplines (ballroom dance, gymnastics, figure skating) in the context of revising students' skills and leading to a different understanding of technical and artistic performance
- Teaching specific skill elements and effective stereotypes of classical dance in leisure dance activities
- A system of appropriate selection of dance „numbers“, expressive dance expressions, dramaturgy, and public performance objectives and feedback in evaluating their significance and mission
Meeting and observing various pedagogical figures, both domestic and international, is essential for improving professional pedagogical thinking and action. The workshops organized by the department are an integral part of the study.

The teaching combines monological, applied, and interactive teaching methods, and encourages self-study in non-contact learning and critical thinking of the student. The student is encouraged to create his/her own portfolio based on the acquisition of his/her own experience and skills.
Distance contact will be provided:
- phone, email, video calls
- through group platforms for communication between students (social networks, internet, apps, moodle, etc.)
Independent work of the student within the framework of contactless learning:
Own teaching practice:
Each student will present twice a semester his/her pedagogical practice and different approaches and forms of lessons, according to the consultation and assignment of the supervising teacher. He/she will videotape his/her teaching and send it with appropriate comments on methods, approach, corrections and assessment of students to the subject teacher who will study it and give feedback to the student preferably in contact teaching or in individual consultation. Of course, a written form of feedback or Skype can also be used. If the student does not have his/her own teaching practice, he/she must organise his/her own teaching on the assigned topic so that he/she can record his/her pedagogical output.
Literature study:
The study of selected literature is one of the basic tasks of self-study, students will be assigned specified topics to study based on various sources. In contact teaching, students will analyse, compare and apply the knowledge acquired in class, subjecting it to their own critical thinking.
Examples of topics:
- Working with curricula and school educational concepts
- Main features of classical dance schools in relation to history and contemporary eclectic approaches
- Feedback processes, evaluation, discussion with parents
Internet resources:
Internet resources, especially YouTube, will be used for further information gathering, where students will again search for appropriate links (at least four per topic) to the given topics, which they will pass on to each other and apply the information and knowledge gained in contact practical teaching.
