The aim of the course is to prepare dance professionals in terms of voice and speech for teaching practice. To do this, we use the hidden interplay of speech and movement centers to create new, this time already conscious practices in mastering the speech of future dance teachers. The class follows the winter semester.
The familiar elements are combined into larger units, used already consciously, and automated through special exercises. More movement-intensive exercises are deliberately chosen to show the speaking performance as a whole, with melodic, dynamic and rhythmic variations. New impulses are also created when the teachers of voice and dance training interact with each other.
Thematic areas:
1)breathing technique
2)In this semester we already expect some independence in its use. We are deepening and fixing good habits, eliminating deficiencies. We are refining the automaticity of light quick breaths on the basis of a good breath reserve.
- Vocal technique
4)We place demanding requirements especially on the safe control of voice positions. The student must master the widest possible vocal range in speech form, full voicing of all positions, dynamics and timing without vocal breaks.
5)Articulation technique
6)Students will acquire a practical understanding of the pronunciation standard. Articulation exercises are helpful.
Learning outcomes
The student will acquire an approach to the perception of the voice as an essential part of their personality, as an important communication tool. They will acquire theoretical knowledge about the breathing and vocal system, understand the principles of voice formation, acquire the basics of speaking technique practically and, through continuous training in seminars and non-contact independent training, develop the ability to create a sonorous, consciously modulated voice and its expression is also articulately accurate. They will know how to impress the listener sympathetically, knowledgeably and reliably even in stressful situations (stage fright, non-acoustic or large spaces, etc.).
