Learning objectives:

Concert practice prepares the student for a real situation related to his/her future profession. During the concert practice the student tests his/her performance skills on the concert stage in front of an audience.

This practice takes place in public Ensemble Play concerts, in yearly rehearsals, and in other public presentations at school events. It is advisable to supplement the practice associated with the curriculum with individual concert activities outside of school.

Learning outcomes

The student has a comprehensive knowledge of the jazz music repertoire and demonstrates a high level in creating and delivering coherent musical experiences and interpretations.

Possesses a cultivated and experienced knowledge of improvisational techniques and processes and has the ability to apply them freely in a variety of contexts.

Performs, reimagines, creates, arranges and/or produces music at a high professional level, expressing own artistic concepts at the level of a developed musical personality.

Publicly presents high quality artistic performance as a solo and ensemble player.

Literature

The choice of repertoire is adequate to the individual focus of the student. In the case of a student's participation in a national or international competition, the repertoire may be selected, supplemented or modified on the basis of the announced competition conditions.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Successful performance of concerts in the course Playing in a Jazz Ensemble and a year-long concert thematically linked to the chosen master's project.
