Local colour ranges, atmospheres, concept of space. Information and emotion. Solutions for light and tonality. The sequence and linking of shots. Static and kinetic characteristics of motifs. Relationships between the visual and dramatic concepts of the film. Visual-dramatic interpretation of imagery. Dramatic figure as an object of visual and dramatic stylisation. The scene, costume, masque. A figure viewed within the scene image. Variable situation component. Internal and external meanings. Expressive tendencies. Meaningful compositions. Impact and dominants prepared. Overall colour dramaturgy of fiction films.

Part of the preparation of the Rainbow Exercise

Dramaturgy of colour relationships in a short simple-story photographic study.

The significance of environmental, costume and lighting colour variations in the context of the literary subject development.

Assignment:

The student conducts a short photographic study based on his/her own simple story featuring three figures in the environment of varying colour range and dramatic quality.

Structure of the story:

Throughout the plot development, the colour range of the figure gradually changes in the context of their interrelationships and connections to their respective or opposite environments.

Figure one is opposed to Figure Two while Figure Three is neutral at the beginning. Environment One is associated with one of the figures while Environment Two is variable as the student chooses.

Completion of the exercise:

Photographs (max.25 shots, 9 x 13 format), digital form, to be printed into storyboard with a brief story description attached. The value of the shots must be obviously visible.

NO SEMINAR PAPER WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE.

Picture 3 is the crucial part of the non-graded exam of Rainbow.
