A full-length workshop by cinematographer Agnes Godard (https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0323707) focusing primarily on film style and shooting.

Under the guidance of the mentor, students will be given the opportunity to shoot a pre-selected scene in several different ways to achieve a different psychological look.

13.12. all Wednesday long (9am – 4pm) Café 35 (Café of the French Institute in Prague, Štěpánská 35, Prague 1) shooting workshop.

13.12. Wednesday afternoon – editing of the filmed material, done by the students themselves

14.12. Thursday morning - presentation of filmed material, analysis

Learning outcomes

Deepening of previously acquired knowledge of filming, working in real- interior and exterior. Working in spatially restrictive environments. Familiarization with the style of the cinematographer Agnes Godard.

Prerequisites and other requirements

Basic awareness of the cinematography of Agnes Godard. Knowledge of the principles of filming. Experience with the use of modern digital cameras (namely Sony Venice).

Evaluation methods and criteria

Treatment of a technical script based on a common topic assigned/including floor plan, camera positions/ - worked on in separate groups, FAMU students mini crew including 2-3 actors, realization and subsequent first version editing of the material.

Filmed material will be edited into a presentable form.

Individual written essay/feedback regarding the acquired knowledge and influence on the author's own work in the scope of max. 1 standard page.
