The workshop is intended for: 2nd- and 3rd-year Bachelor’s students and 1st- and 2nd-year Master’s students

Learning outcomes

The purpose of this workshop is to familiarize students with the process of developing positive paper using the RA4 hot process in the Thermaphot ACP 502 color developing machine. An integral part of the workshop is learning how to operate the color analyzer to determine the correct exposure and color filtration.

To achieve the appropriate color reproduction in the negative-to-positive process, we will work in CMY subtractive mode. On a theoretical level, students will also be introduced to the RGB process.

The workshop will also include an opportunity to try out the inversion system when working with color paper negatives. The knowledge gained in this way will primarily help students consider how to apply this technology in their personal creative work or other projects.
