The course follows Software Basics 1 and further develops the individual thematic blocks towards application in specific tasks and projects. Emphasis is placed on deepening workflows, combining toolsand using digital means consciously in relation to authorial intent and final output.

Block 1: Working with photography and images

This block extends basic image‑editing workflows towards more advanced procedures and concrete practical situations. Students work with image editing in relation to different outputs and integratecurrent AI tools as a natural extension of existing workflows. AI is approached as part of the workflow, not as a standalone technical topic.

Block 2: Layout and typography

In the second semester, the block focuses on producing a concrete graphic output. Students apply layout and typography principles to their own projects and learn to adapt workflows to therequirements of specific formats, media and modes of presentation.

Block 3: New and digital tools

The block concentrates on embedding contemporary digital and AI tools into a coherent authorial workflow. Students are introduced to principles of creating simple functional pipelines across multiple tools and to decision‑making strategies regarding their use in different contexts and project goals.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students:

-can apply acquired knowledge within concrete projects or creative tasks,

-are able to design and implement workflows appropriate to a chosen intent and form of output,

-can consciously combine multiple digital tools and make informed decisions based on context,

-understand the relationship between digital preparation, tool use and final presentation,

-develop independence and critical responsibility in working with digital technologies.

Successful completion of Software Basics 1.

Literature

Study materials are shared continuously within the individual blocks. Access to the necessary software is provided in the computer lab.

Evaluation methods and criteria

The course is completed with a credit. The requirements for obtaining the credit are active participation in class (minimum 80%) and continuous work on a concrete task or project in which studentsapply knowledge and skills developed across both semesters.

Assessment focuses on the ability to design and implement an appropriate workflow, to consciously select and combine digital tools, and to reflect on their use in relation to the chosen output. Emphasis is placed on process, quality of decision‑making and competent use of tools within a given context, rather than on technical perfection of the final result.
