The aim of the course is to provide students with a theoretical and methodological background to the designated topic of the practicum. The lecturers select literature on the topic, which students read and discuss in seminars. The literature is always selected to enable students to reflect on relevant aspects of the topic and to offer examples of how the topic can be creatively approached.

02-05 - continuous reading and discussion sessions

06 - course summary, peer discussions of intended topics for final critical texts

Learning outcomes

The student verifies and deepens his/her understanding of the relationship between theory and methodology of author's research and analysis. The student deepens his/her knowledge and skills with the basic principles of working with professional texts.

Evaluation methods and criteria

The course ends with a classified examination. Regular participation in seminar discussions is a prerequisite for passing the course; at the end of the semester the student submits a critical text of 5-10 standard pages. The examination is in the form of a debate on the submitted text.
